WP1: Market Analysis – Case Studies – Code Review
WP 1 starts with a market analysis for the future needs on transmission towers, especially for finding the areas where high strength steel and sections with legs larger than 150 mm might be of benefit. It identifies characteristic structural typologies for telecommunications and transmission towers and selects two archetype typologies for further analysis and design in case studies. Subsequently, six case studies will be worked out, and a detailed assessment of existing rules in European Codes concerning the design of members with angle sections or built-up members with angle sections are made.
